  Still dont get the friggin birthdays

  i have read extensively about the origins of birthdays, and i still don't get it.

  but it's not what it means today.. even wedding veils were used to ward off the "evil eye".

  The only two scriptures have have remotely any relevance to birthdays are:

  Job 1:4: "His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on HIS DAY, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them."

  and Romans 14:5,6: " 5One man regards a certain day above the others, while someone elseconsiders every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who observes a special day does so to the Lord; he who eats does so to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.…"

  i had this article pop up about the darksilver case.

  it says a federal magistrate in san francisco has now ruled that darksilver can remain anonymous but then it says except for identification to lawyers for the religion’s watchtower publication.

  has there been anything recent?

  the last i knew, certain fractions were considered a conscience matter.

  blood derived vaccinations were cleared, saying that the blood part has been removed.

  for the second year in a row, the org has marked international women's day.

  this time, it's an article that lists most female bible characters in alphabetical order with a brief summary for each, topped by a picture of them in 'empowering' poses.

  Are there any JW songs that you HATE?

  you're probably thinking 'all of them', and it's true that the songbook is riddled with wrong stuff .

  but are there any songs in particular that irk your moral sensibilities?.

  for me it would be song #26, "you did it for me".

  There's that abomination (Song 18) " A Special Possession;" it was the opening song at this year's Memorial... transfers devotion from Jesus to the anointed and especially the GB.

  There there's an old favorite of mine, "Jehovah God is My Shepherd" of which they brutalized the lyrics, changing them from an approximation ot the 23rd Psalm to ....whatever.. I guess they feel empowered to improve upon the sacred text. One example of pointlessly changing the "oldies" to create the impression in a feeble bid to appear forward-looking and progressive.

  The newer songs they've added are mostly blatant, cultish propaganda .
